Softball Game Preview: Bloom Blazing Trojan vs. Crete-Monee Warriors

The Bloom Blazing Trojan will take on the Crete-Monee Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Bloom's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.

Bloom's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Joliet Central. The Blazing Trojan haven't had any issues with the Steelmen recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Sandy Munoz, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Aryana Knaack, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Crete-Monee lost 13-2 to Kankakee on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled against the Kays recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Crete-Monee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taleeana Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Ramirez hit this season.

The win got Bloom back to even at 5-5. As for Crete-Monee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Bloom skirted past Crete-Monee 14-12 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Blazing Trojan repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
