Basketball Game Preview: J.H. Rose Rampants vs. Jacksonville Cardinals

The J.H. Rose Rampants will head out to challenge the Jacksonville Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. J.H. Rose is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, J.H. Rose was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to Havelock. While the Rampants didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 13-0 in the first quarter.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kahrin Highsmith, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaya Clemons, who posted 18 points.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 71-13 victory over Northside - Jacksonville. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 25 points or more this season.

Jacksonville is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points over those games. As for J.H. Rose, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

J.H. Rose was taken down by Jacksonville 73-27 in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can J.H. Rose avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
