Basketball Recap: Mount Ayr's Loss Ends 12-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mount Ayr entered their game against Southeast Warren on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mount Ayr Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to the Southeast Warren Warhawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-40 back in January.

Mount Ayr's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-4. As for Southeast Warren, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Ayr will square off against Interstate 35 at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mount Ayr knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Interstate 35 likes a good challenge. As for Southeast Warren, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lenox at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
