Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Leopards vs. LaBrae Vikings

Liberty and LaBrae are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Liberty Leopards will be playing in front of their home fans against the LaBrae Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 17 straight losses, while LaBrae will come in with five straight victories.

Liberty is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Garfield on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Liberty was outmatched by Garfield and fell 55-15. The Leopards were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-3.

Meanwhile, LaBrae earned a 44-34 win over Garfield on Wednesday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the G-Men are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

LaBrae is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points per game. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.
