Volleyball Recap: Celina Takes a Loss

Celina lost against Marion Local back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flyers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Celina was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 17 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17.

Lilly Shreffler paced Celina's offense, picking up five kills. Shreffler got some help from Haley Kizer and her 11 assists.

Marion Local was led to victory by Sophie Salazar and Sophia Fleck. Salazar had three digs and two aces, while Fleck had nine digs. That's the most aces Salazar has posted over her last seven matchups.

Celina's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Marion Local, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Celina has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against St. Paul on the 27th. As for Marion Local, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Crestview on the 27th.
