Softball Recap: Kennard-Dale's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of eight wins, Kennard-Dale's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the South Western Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Taryn Ashenfelter spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Kennard-Dale's loss dropped their record down to 19-3. As for South Western, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Kennard-Dale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Fleetwood on the 19th. South Western does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
