Basketball Game Preview: New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers vs. Gillespie Miners

New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly hasn't had much luck against Gillespie recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers will host the Gillespie Miners at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Trojans 43-38. The Vipers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Gillespie came up short against Staunton on Tuesday and fell 42-32.

Gillespie's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 17-7. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Things could have been worse for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-42 loss to Gillespie in their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
