Baseball Recap: Willow Spring Takes a Loss

Willow Spring lost against Garner back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Storm fell 5-2 to the Trojans. The Storm just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Luke Doreauk was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Gio Tafalla made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. Ben Cannaday was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Willow Spring now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Garner, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Garner has already played their next match, a 14-11 defeat against Millbrook on the 16th. Hopefully Willow Spring paid attention to the Trojans' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
