Softball Recap: First Flight Takes a Loss

First Flight fell victim to Currituck County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Tuesday.

First Flight saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Schnader, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for First Flight and nudges their season record down to 9-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Currituck County, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, First Flight will welcome Manteo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Redskins' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Nighthawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Currituck County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
