Softball Recap: Piedmont Community Charter Wins Going Away Against Hickory Grove Christian

Piedmont Community Charter won against Concord Academy last Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots were the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over the Hickory Grove Christian Lions. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Evangeline East was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Chloe Rae Baker, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Piedmont Community Charter has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. Hickory Grove Christian is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont Community Charter will venture away from home to square off against Greater Cabarrus S at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Lions coming up. Covenant Day will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hickory Grove Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
