Baseball Recap: Monroe Beats Belleville for Their Third Straight Win

Monroe strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Belleville Wildcats.

The team relied heavily on Marcus Ott, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Newcomer, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Monroe's record now sits at 3-0. As for Belleville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe will welcome Brodhead/Juda at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cheesemakers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Belleville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Columbus at 5:00 p.m.
