Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Montbello Warriors, falling 3-0. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Lincoln took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

Montbello was led to victory by Yaretzi Barraza and Brittany DelRio. Barraza had 16 kills, two blocks, and two aces, while DelRio had three digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Barraza is now averaging an impressive 5.6 kills per game.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Montbello, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Lincoln has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Thomas Jefferson on the 9th. As for Montbello, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against George Washington on the 9th.
