Preview: First State Military Academy Bulldogs vs. Tatnall Hornets
First State Military Academy is 0-3 against Tatnall since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The First State Military Academy Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Tatnall Hornets at 1:00 p.m.
First State Military Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 28-6 defeat to Indian River might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First State Military Academy in their matchups with Indian River: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Tatnall put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Christiana, posting a 41-0 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but Tatnall sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Tatnall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rahshan Lamons led the charge by rushing for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 54 yards and a touchdown. Lamons has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played. Micah Stamper was another key contributor, gaining 123 total yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Tatnall's defense and their eight sacks. Jack Homer was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 sacks himself.
Indian River's win bumped their season record to 7-3 while First State Military Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 6-4.
First State Military Academy came up short against Tatnall in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, falling 22-17. Can First State Military Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
