Terry Black leads Marion-Franklin to victory over East

Recap: Marion-Franklin Red Devils vs. East Tigers

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Marion-Franklin Red Devils ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 89-84 victory over East. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Marion-Franklin can attribute much of their success to Terry Black, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. Black also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Carmelo Dorsey, who scored 20 points along with six assists and six steals.

The win got Marion-Franklin back to even at 5-5. As for East, they bumped their record down to 4-8 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion-Franklin will take on Eastmoor Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eastmoor Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday. As for East, they will be playing at home against Columbus International at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Columbus International focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
