Football Recap: Colts Neck Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Colts Neck's offense. They came up short against the Ocean Township Spartans on Saturday, falling 22-0. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in November of 2015.

Zack Caporale threw for 68 yards on seven of 12 attempts. Joe Pignatelli was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards. On the ground, Bryson Royal rushed for 34 yards.

Colts Neck dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Ocean Township, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, Colts Neck will square off against Manasquan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ocean Township, they will challenge Central Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' defense has only allowed 11.1 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
