Volleyball Preview: Valencia Jaguars vs. Chaparral Lobos
The Valencia Jaguars will take on the Chaparral Lobos at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Valencia will be strutting in after a win while Chaparral will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Valencia made easy work of Grants and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Chaparral came up short against Hatch Valley last Tuesday and fell 3-1. While the Lobos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 25-7 in the first set.
Chaparral actually scored more points across those four sets (92-82), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 7-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.
Valencia's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Valencia was able to grind out a solid victory over Chaparral when the teams last played back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valencia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
