Duchesne hadn't done well against Lutheran recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pioneers skirted past the Cougars 7-6. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Duchesne got a great performance from Gavin Moffitt as he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave Moffitt a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jackson Nikodym was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Rehagen, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Duchesne's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. As for Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Duchesne will square off against Chaminade at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.22 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Jackson at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
