Gulf Shores and Calera squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Gulf Shores had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Dolphins' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Woods McElroy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Gulf Shores saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jud Harris, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
