Baseball Recap: DuQuoin Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only DuQuoin walked away with it. They came out on top against the Frankfort Redbirds by a score of 8-4 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now won nine in a row.

The team relied heavily on Noah Siefert, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jaden DeMarie, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

DuQuoin's win bumped their record up to 22-14. As for Frankfort, they moved to 11-15 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, DuQuoin will challenge Teutopolis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wooden Shoes will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. Frankfort does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
