Baseball Recap: Villa Madonna Vikings vs. Bourbon County Colonels
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grant County, Villa Madonna was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Bourbon County Colonels as Villa Madonna made off with an 11-5 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Ryan Timm and Tyler Brandstetter made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Timm pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Brandstetter didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Timm scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Brandstetter scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
