Softball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Navajo Prep

Navajo Prep waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Zuni Thunderbirds with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jazmine Deswood and Isabella Yazzie did most of the damage at the plate: Deswood went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Yazzie went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Shianne Begay, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Navajo Prep's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Zuni, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Navajo Prep nor Zuni have any future games scheduled.
