Softball Recap: Bradley Central Wins Going Away Against Whitwell

Bradley Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Whitwell, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Bears were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Tigers on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Tigers on April 11th, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Maryah Greenwood made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Kaylee Callahan looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March.

Back at the plate, Presleigh Sanders was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Khloe Farkas, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Bradley Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whitwell only posted a batting average of .238.

Bradley Central's win bumped their record up to 12-16-1. As for Whitwell, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Bradley Central nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
