Basketball Recap: Myka Candelaria Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rehoboth Christian

On SaturdayTohatchi's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over the Rehoboth Christian Lynx. The 56-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Tohatchi's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Myka Candelaria led the charge by putting up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Adriano Begay, who posted 14 points.

Tohatchi's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Rehoboth Christian, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tohatchi Cougars face off against the Bloomfield Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tohatchi is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63 points per game this season. As for Rehoboth Christian, they will take on Crownpoint at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
