It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact The Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Strasburg Indians by a score of 8-7 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Ava Fladung made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Pearson, who went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.
The Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Strasburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
The Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Strasburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-1 loss against University on the 26th.
