Soccer Game Preview: Oakbrook Prep vs. Cambridge Academy

The Oakbrook Prep Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Cambridge Academy Cambridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakbrook Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Oakbrook Prep fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Greenwood Christian last Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Oakbrook Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Greenwood Christian are ranked 32nd).

Lauren Tellefsen and Emma Hunt scored both of Oakbrook Prep's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lions as they made off with a 6-0 win.

Cambridge Academy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Oakbrook Prep, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Oakbrook Prep beat Cambridge Academy 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
