Harvard is a perfect 5-0 against Plano since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Reapers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Harvard and ten for Plano.
Harvard managed to slip by Dundee-Crown the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets lost 10-0 to the Chargers on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Plano suffered their closest defeat since March 19th on Thursday. They fell just short of Johnsburg by a score of 18-16. Even if the Reapers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Annabelle Solis led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Rowe, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Plano, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.
Harvard skirted past Plano 3-2 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
