Recap: Alliance Christian Gryphons vs. Linville Hill
The Alliance Christian Gryphons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. The New Year welcomed they with a 102-39 whooping from Linville Hill. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alliance Christian in their matchups with Linville Hill: they've now lost nine in a row.
Linville Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jerome Stoltzfus led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six assists. That's the first time this season that Stoltzfus scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Tibbins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 assists.
Alliance Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Linville Hill, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Alliance Christian will head out on the road to face off against Conestoga Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Conestoga Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. As for Linville Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against High Point Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. High Point Baptist Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
