Volleyball Recap: Essex Tech Comes Up Short

Essex Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dracut Middies. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Middies earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Essex Tech actually scored more points across those five sets (110-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 15-25, 26-24, 25-22, 13-25, 16-14.

Dracut can attribute much of their success to Jeremy Tong, who had nine digs and one assist.

Essex Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Dracut, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Coming up, Essex Tech will take on Waltham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dracut, they will challenge Greater Lawrence Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Reggies will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Middies surely won't give up without a fight.
