Basketball Recap: Maddox Woolverton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Valley over Platte Valley + How To Watch

Valley lost against Platte Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vikings fell 72-59 to the Broncos. The Vikings were down 60-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddox Woolverton, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 19 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Kissler, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Platte Valley was led to victory by Regan Edstrom and Rocco Minner. Edstrom went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points, while Minner posted 12 points. Dominic Maldonado was another key player, putting up seven points.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Platte Valley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Valley will venture away from home to face off against Fort Lupton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Platte Valley, they have already played their next game, a 53-49 loss against SkyView Academy on the 9th.
