Basketball Recap: Douglas Takes a Loss

Douglas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brookings Bobcats. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 53-41 to the Patriots when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Brookings, their win ended a 17-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-18.

Coming up, Douglas will face off against Yankton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Douglas has given up an average of 58.1 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Brookings, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spearfish at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brookings has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
