Soccer Game Preview: Alief Taylor vs. Strake Jesuit

Alief Taylor is 0-9 against Strake Jesuit since February of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Alief Taylor Lions will face off against the Strake Jesuit Fighting Crusaders at 12:00 p.m.

Alief Taylor is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Foster. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Strake Jesuit came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.2 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Chargers as they made off with a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Crusaders, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Strake Jesuit's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four matches. As for Alief Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
