Recap: Providence Classical vs. Lee Park Prep Knights
Providence Classical suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were beaten by Lee Park Prep 62-7. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Providence Classical has scored all season.
Lee Park Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Viviana Nigro out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Currie, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Providence Classical bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.7 points per game. As for Lee Park Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Providence Classical won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fletcher at 5:45 p.m. on January 12th. Fletcher will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 550th in North Carolina, while Providence Classical is ranked 241st in South Carolina). As for Lee Park Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Liberty Preparatory Christian at 6:00 p.m.
