Baseball Recap: Emerald's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Emerald dropped their record down to 9-12 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell 7-3 to the Westside Rams. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2018.

Emerald saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Scott, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Westside, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games.

On Westside's side, Brody Caudle and Landon Geddings did most of the damage at the plate: Caudle went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Geddings went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Geddings a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Holmes, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Westside beat Emerald by a score of 10-7 on Wednesday.
