Basketball Recap: Dunsmuir Tigers vs. Surprise Valley Hornets
After flying high against Butte Valley last Tuesday, Dunsmuir came back down to earth. The Dunsmuir Tigers fell 57-49 to the Surprise Valley Hornets on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Dunsmuir lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Michael Kellar, who posted 25 points. Kellar's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jon Schneider was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Dunsmuir will take on Elk Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dunsmuir is facing Elk Creek at the right time seeing as Elk Creek is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Surprise Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-35 loss against Tulelake on the 21st.
