Basketball Recap: Delta Eagles vs. Wapahani Raiders
After flying high against Blackford last Tuesday, Delta came back down to earth. The Delta Eagles fell to the Wapahani Raiders 44-38. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-38 back in January.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Furney, who posted 11 points and four steals. Furney has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Cooper Bratton was another key player, putting up ten points.
Wapahani was led to victory by Nate Luce and Eli Andrews. Luce went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points, while Andrews went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.
Delta's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-4. As for Wapahani, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Delta will square off against Greenfield-Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greenfield-Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matches -- so hopefully Delta likes a good challenge.
