Softball Recap: Sulphur Springs Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

Sulphur Springs extended their postseason success on Friday against Sanger. They never let the Indians get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Indians on Wednesday, they had to take a 6-2 loss.

Sanger's batters probably weren't too happy with Hannah Speed, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (she gave up three walks). Speed has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Sulphur Springs is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sanger, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-8-3.

Sulphur Springs will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
