Softball Recap: Pocono Mountain West's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Pocono Mountain West came into Friday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Louis E. Dieruff Huskies on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Kaylee Masotti made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Cayleigh Keller was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Sam Rider was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Pocono Mountain West's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Louis E. Dieruff, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Pocono Mountain West will take on Pocono Mountain East at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Louis E. Dieruff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
