Saugerties has gone 7-2 against Highland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sawyers will head out to square off against the Huskies at 12:00 p.m. Saugerties' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Highland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Saugerties took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Bethlehem Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sawyers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Sawyers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Ellenville a 24-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Highland pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Saugerties, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Saugerties came up short against Highland in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Sawyers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
