Neosho had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the McDonald County Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Mustangs since March 23, 2017.

Neosho's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zack Workman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Neosho's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for McDonald County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neosho will venture away from home to face off against Parkview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a 24-game losing streak. As for McDonald County, they will challenge Nevada at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
