            Baseball Recap: Dexter Dreadnaughts vs. Huron River Rats        
        
		
        
        
            The home team had won the previous four meetings between Dexter and Huron, and Huron kept the tradition alive. The Dreadnaughts took  a  6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Rats on Wednesday. The Dreadnaughts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the River Rats earlier this season, when they won  2-0.
 Andrew Cusick was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side, Dexter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Matt Clayton, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.  Mason McAllister was another,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases.
Dexter's defeat  ended  an  eight-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 5-2. As for Huron,  the  victory snapped their losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
 Looking ahead, Dexter will head out on the road to  square off against  Adrian  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Huron, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. This will  be the River Rats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
