Basketball Recap: Collegiate Cougars vs. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints
The Collegiate Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes as Collegiate made off with a 57-37 win. The win was some much needed relief for Collegiate as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Collegiate found their leader in underclassman Clare Aman, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Aman has scored at least a third of Collegiate's points. Olivia Tull was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Collegiate now has a winning record of 9-8. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collegiate will take on the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Anne's-Belfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 226 points over their last three matchups. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the at 5:45 p.m. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
