Volleyball Recap: Payton College Prep's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Payton College Prep lost against Fremd back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1. The loss put an end to the Grizzlies' undefeated start to the season.

Charlotte Fumerton Porter paced Payton College Prep's offense, picking up nine kills. Fumerton Porter got some help from Isa Hughes and her 22 assists. Finally, Anastasia Churyla kept Payton College Prep's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Payton College Prep fell to 2-1. As for Fremd, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Payton College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against West Aurora on the 27th. As for Fremd, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Wheaton North on the 30th.
