Basketball Game Preview: Prince George Royals vs. Matoaca Warriors

Prince George is 1-9 against Matoaca since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Prince George Royals will face off against the Matoaca Warriors at 7:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Monday, Prince George was beaten by Hanover 70-37.

Meanwhile, Matoaca came up short against Glen Allen on Saturday, falling 64-44. The Warriors have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Prince George will have to contain Kailah Carter as she made an impact in Matoaca's last game. She went 12 of 17 on her way to 28 points. The contest was Carter's third in a row with at least 25 points. Sydney Richardson was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Prince George's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Matoaca, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Prince George won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by Matoaca 57-56. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Carter, who went 11 for 18 to rack up 28 points in addition to five boards and five blocks.
