Basketball Recap: Summers County Bobcats vs. Mingo Central Miners
Summers County lost against Mingo Central back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Summers County Bobcats had to suffer through a 69-38 loss at the hands of the Mingo Central Miners.
Mingo Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie Smith, who shot 6-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten assists. Mingo Central is undefeated when Smith posts eight or more assists, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of DaLaney Grimmett, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 21 points in addition to six assists and four steals.
Summers County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Mingo Central, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Looking ahead, Summers County will head out to take on Greenbrier West at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mingo Central, they will host Belfry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
