Meanwhile, Loyd Star was able to grind out a solid win over St. Andrew's Episcopal on Monday, taking the game 40-27. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Loyd Star's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Bay Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 23-5.

Everything came up roses for Bay Springs against Loyd Star in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bay Springs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
