Volleyball Recap: Academy at the Lakes Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Academy at the Lakes can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Classical Prep Lions on Tuesday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Classical Prep scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 25-22.

Sofia Bettini paced Academy at the Lakes' offense, picking up eight kills. Bettini got some help from Abigail Warnock and her 14 assists. Mila Bettini controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Academy at the Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Classical Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Academy at the Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Classical Prep, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against All Saints' Academy on the 16th.
