Football Recap: Caroline Cummings Leads Northfield's Defense on Wednesday

Northfield owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They strolled past the Northglenn Norsemen with points to spare, taking the game 14-0. That's more bragging rights for the Nighthawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The critical scores for Northfield came from Caroline Cummings and Ale Garcia.

Northfield didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Northglenn to a completion percentage of just 36.4%. The Nighthawks weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Northfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cummings.

Despite the loss, Northglenn still got an impressive performance from Kaitlyn Fujinami, who rushed for 128 yards.

Northfield has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Northfield will take on Thomas Jefferson at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northglenn, they will face off against Denver North at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
