Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garrard County). They walked away with an 80-68 victory over the Mercer County Titans on Saturday. The Golden Lions pushed the score to 61-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Titans cut but never quite recovered from.

Mercer County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddi Baker, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Allie Fenwick also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Garrard County's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mercer County, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Garrard County will head out to take on Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garrard County is facing Danville at the right time seeing as Danville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Mercer County has already played their next matchup, a 78-54 victory against Christian Academy-Louisville on the 20th.
