South Laurel is 0-10 against Southwestern since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. South Laurel's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Southwestern's offense will have their work cut out for them.

South Laurel is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since October 18, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by Pulaski County and fell 42-7. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Cardinals' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Southwestern had taken North Laurel down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Warriors fell 24-14 to the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Jaguars are ranked 32nd).

Having lost for the first time this season, South Laurel fell to 7-1. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
