Basketball Recap: Bertie Wins Going Away Against Tarboro

Bertie won the last time they faced Tarboro and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bertie Falcons enjoyed a cozy 70-55 victory over the Tarboro Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Bertie had a senior duo take command as Zymiere Dempsey dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds and Tayvien Ward went 9 for 11 en route to 26 points. The match was Dempsey's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Rahmeek Outlaw was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points.

Bertie's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Tarboro, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Bertie has already played their next game, a 72-49 victory against North East Carolina Prep on the 5th. As for Tarboro, they will challenge Perquimans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tarboro knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Perquimans likes a good challenge.
